예술

Art forms of the past were really considered elitist. Bach did not compose for the masses, neither did Beethoven. 

It was always for patrons, aristocrats, and royalty. Now we have a sort of democratic version of that, 

which is to say that the audience is so splintered in its interests.
사실 과거의 예술 형식은 엘리트의 전유물로 여겨졌다. 바흐는 대중을 위해 작곡하지 않았으며 이는 베토벤 또한 마찬가지였다. 예술은 언제나 후원가들이나 귀족 그리고 왕족을 위한 것이었다. 이제 우리는 일종의 민주적 형태의 예술을 향유하게 되었으며 이는 대중의 관심사가 아주 다양해진다는 것을 의미한다.
