In science, 'fact' can only mean 'confirmed to such a degree that it would be perverse to withhold provisional assent.' I suppose that apples might start to rise tomorrow, but the possibility does not merit equal time in physics classrooms.
과학에서 '사실'이란 '잠정적 승인을 보류하는 것이 잘못일 정도로 확정되었음'을 의미할 뿐이다. 나는 사과가 내일부터 솟아오르기 시작할 수도 있다고 생각하지만, 물리학 수업시간에 그 가능성에 대해 동일한 시간을 할애할 만한 가치는 없다.
